There are many reasons why the original Halo game was the best for Xbox. For one, it was an original release title for the system, and was responsible for many people adopting the new console. Halo was highly anticipated for its release, and there was good reason for it.

The way that Halo is played was unique, and all the controls were programmed so that people could be fluid in their movements. Having continuity like that can be difficult to achieve in a video game, but Bungie, the company that created Halo, was able to do it.

No action game would be complete without the use of vehicles. The original Halo features a lineup of things to drive, such as Warthogs, Ghosts, Tanks, and Banshees (which can fly!) This variety ensures that you will never get tired of using vehicles in the game.

Next is the weapons that are available. All of the guns have their own unique characteristics, and no two are alike. One of the best guns was ironically the pistol, which although would seem weak, has 2x zoom and remarkable power.

All of the prior things are important, but the settings in which the action occurs is even more important. One of the things that brought the most critical acclaim was how beautiful the levels looked. A lot of time went into making each of the ten levels as unique as possible.

Of course, all the flash in the world cannot make a good game become great. For that, you need a significant plot that people can be taken into. When was the last time you heard of a successful game that did not have a plot? (Okay, other than Tetris). The humans vs. aliens plot of Halo has been taken from the video game world into many other mediums as well.

Halo is also known for a brilliant twist, in which halfway through the game, a new enemy known as The Flood makes an appearance. This was one of the biggest surprises in any video game, and it even had an element of horror to it. I remember that I was afraid to play that level alone, at least.

Last but not least was the multiplayer in Halo. No other game has had as good a multiplayer environment, with a large amount of different maps, and the ability to use vehicles on them. I’ve never had as much fun in any multiplayer game as I’ve had with Halo.
